Induction Categories
The Oklahoma Engineering Hall of Fame recognizes individuals and organizations whose contributions have advanced engineering, strengthened industry, and shaped Oklahoma’s future. Through a distinguished system of induction categories, the Hall of Fame honors pioneers, innovators, builders, mentors, and visionaries whose work reflects excellence, leadership, and lasting impact.
These classifications are intended to guide nominations while preserving the prestige and selectivity of Hall of Fame induction. Nominees may be recognized for technical achievement, transformative leadership, historic contributions, educational influence, infrastructure development, or sustained service to the engineering profession.
Pioneer
Presented posthumously to individuals whose engineering achievements, leadership, or discoveries helped shape Oklahoma’s development and left a lasting historical impact on the profession, industry, or public welfare.
Visionary
Honors individuals whose leadership, foresight, and influence transformed organizations, industries, public systems, or the engineering profession through bold thinking and strategic impact.
Innovator
Recognizes individuals whose ideas, inventions, research, technologies, or engineering advancements have significantly advanced their field and influenced the future of engineering.
Educator
Recognizes individuals who have dedicated themselves to developing future generations of engineers through education, mentorship, leadership, advocacy, or professional guidance.
Builder
Honors individuals, companies, or organizations whose work has created lasting impact through major projects, infrastructure, industry leadership, economic development, or long-term contributions to Oklahoma and beyond.

The Hall of Fame welcomes nominations representing all engineering disciplines, including civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, petroleum, aerospace, industrial, environmental, agricultural, software, transportation, structural, biomedical, materials, architectural, and emerging engineering fields.
